Temat: Problems
When I look at this game I see all of the problems listed above and another major problem: SEO, Search Engine Optimization. Meaning that basically the only way Planetia is getting known is by word of mouth and the pretty much pointless "vote for us" website Planetia joins on the odd occasion.

Now I too have offered to help Administrate this game, helping with parts of coding, giving the game a whole SEO make-over and help with advertisement strategies but I get laughed at, it's ok I'm ex-Ministry HC so of course I'm not trusted, heh.

Personally from what I've noticed around the Admin's is they don't want to move forward with Planetia anymore, they're just happy to sit on their "power" and "op" statuses. Ollie cannot be active enough to run the coding, development, strategies on his own and there is no-one else in the current Admin team capable of helping out with these.

Anyway I think it's now got beyond the "too little, too late" stage. The Admin team's lack of interest in moving forward killed this game, not so much the community i.e. the community was pretty much the same as Planetarions and the Admin team over there were able to control the community to an extent where they could still get new players.

Temat: Next round rumors?

Also, I'm seeing a lot of people wanting do ditch the RED ship. Apparently, even RED members can since a "Titanic-in-waiting" when they see one.
those people would probably be in rock then, as ely/drags have both got pretty strong communities based on trust etc, esp. dragons core, we all know those lot will never give up/play for any other alliance other than dragons unless they disband or sommit, most of em know each other irl etc. ely have had more or less same line-up for several rounds, ive known 10-20 members who represent their core pretty well who wouldnt leave ely for something else even though they`ve been offered better. there are ofc, always the odd exceptions

Temat: Reviews for Barcelona!!!
I thought it was a great show overall, the crowd particularly were fantastic and so responsive and up for it. Having the floor all standing made for a great atmosphere. Thought George was great overall, he pretty much played all the songs of the night as close to the original versions as he could, which i didn't mind, although i overheard someone saying it was like just listening to the recorded version, offering nothing different.

George seemed pretty nervous, he hardly spoke the entire evening. When Too Funky came on for the second time, it was odd and George said something like I don't know whats going on either, but just bear with us. He was 100% live, although i'm not sure about the band after this. Maybe the computerisation of the graphics screen messed up, who knows.

His voice was very good, although nothing like what it was 15 years ago. Vocal highlights for me were First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and My Mother Had a Brother.... just superb. I'm Your Man and Freedom brought the house down and got the biggest reactions of the night.

Wished he'd have done Waiting for that Day, Cowboys and Angels and Somebody to Love. My cousin wanted to hear Club Tropicana too, but maybe we'll get those in London.

Another thing, George didn't dance as much as the good old days... i still remember the cool moves he did when he performed Fast Love at Net Aid in 99.

All in all it was a fantastic show, i just can't wait to do it all over again now.

I resent that.

George and EastPender
By Alice Walker & Katie Hind

How's this for an odd couple - ex-EastEnder ROB KAZINSKY, 25, and GEORGE MICHAEL, 45.

The pair met through mutual friends and got pally after finding they both wanted to write for TV. They're now working on a hush-hush project and an insider said: "You wouldn't expect them to be friends, but they are pretty inseparable."

Wham legend George is a big EastEnders fan while Rob recently quit as the soap's Sean Slater.

Temat: Evolution is thruth, religion is poison.
"By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.... For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" (Psalm 33:6, 9).

On the topic of human origins, a famous scientist wrote: "We're here because one odd group of fishes had a peculiar fin anatomy that could transform into legs for terrestrial creatures."

The Bible, of course—particularly the first two chapters of Genesis—gives a completely different account of our origins: We're here only because a loving, benevolent Creator-God purposely created life on earth in a process that took six literal contiguous 24-hour days.

It is pretty obvious that modern evolutionary theory stands in blatant opposition to the biblical account of Creation. If one is correct, the other has to be wrong. Even more so, the Bible offers no wiggle room for theistic evolution or any theories that seek to integrate a long evolutionary process with the work of God in creating life on earth, especially human life. In the creation of the world, particularly humans, it doesn't appear that God left anything to chance.

Let's take a look at what the Bible says about origins and see for ourselves that the reason we are here has nothing to do with some fish fin that could, by chance, turn into a leg, and everything to do with the God who spoke the world into existence.

God bless,

Viliami
Brother in Christ.

Temat: Winter break over - back to my keyboard!!
In my dreams!!

Nah, Dr D - just been plain busy and the world around here seemed to run out of interesting comments, so I simply 'stayed at home' mentally and physically.

Its actually an odd feeling to find that your email in-box remains pretty-well empty for days on end.....when alerts don't pop up to tell you that someone's replied to a thread you're involved in.....when your log-in name doesn't appear......when your comments aren't 'quoted'.....etc.

It's far too easy to spend far too many hours bashing at a keyboard and staring at a screen - rather than getting out there into the garden - mucking out the car - painting the woodwork, and so on.

Computers are addictive - especially once you start doing something like selling and or buying on eBay or Amazon - or, for that matter, participating in too many forums. So I've enjoyed a mental break......and in my dreams I visited all those places that I've never got round to seeing. And revisiting all those places I've been to. Relaxing and easy to top off a hard day's work in the garden.

But that's still a bit like solitary confinement to me....and so I just couldn't resist logging back in and joining the fray again.

Your comment also got me thinking and summarising - just how many places have I been to?
And so I added them up....26 countries - one for each letter of the alphabet! No wonder I'm happy to stay at home!

So that's where I've been - good old Taunton, basically!

I don't know anything about the history of Planetia, but as I understand it, you're trying to write the next version of Pia, totally independently of
a) the current admins, and
b) the original developers

Would it not make more sense to be working on some variations to the current game, possibly with the support of the current admins and tech staff?

I think this new game sounds good, but I think if you're going to go ahead and make a game like that, which actually has nothing whatsoever to do with Planetia, you should make it a different game, not a replacement...
I'm not sure how much Ollie would like the idea of having his game re-written for him in a totally different way...
Kinda seems an incredibly odd thing to do, but maybe that's just me...

Either way, love the enthusiasm, and this new game sounds pretty good fun, GL finishing it!

game was originally stolen from last-horizon by dave , but dave did quit 3years ago and left everything to ollie,
noodle & foxeh did try recoding the game , noodle failed as for foxeh i didndt see a single line of his code (neither ollie did as i know),
this is my own initiative, if ollie likes the game he will be able to replace it with it, if not he can keep current pia or find other coders/or code himself new features,
i did contact ollie, but just to ask if he can check the game when user interface is finished(no shuffler, ticker,mh and admins interfaces at a time, and maybe without skin just with pure html) if he likes i will continue my work and will do few beta rounds and then 1normal beta round after which i will quit improving it and become a simple player again:)

Temat: Write and Win a PT Tshirt and more
Hey, oh! This is my contribution, ahem! *Bobby clears her throat

Any way here goes.

I managed to write a series. Do you know the odd thing about it is that I wrote up on my childhood, and my intention was to promote awareness of issues such as child abuse, and family violence, but I now realise a person’s life isn’t just about one place in time where you have to go back and examine or analyse why this happened, and why it had to happen to this little girl. It happened to me, because of the series I now realise it was never just about my childhood, it was about my entire life, and the rest of it.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride, and at times I wasn’t always the one in the driver’s seat, but I guess when you put your trust in others you will have a few bad turns, but how you deal with that determines whether you rise above it or not. There were a few Judas’ and they know who they are, I’m not impressed but if you're wondering whether it flagged me down, really? I have taken a few knocks in my lifetime, I think I can handle a few crows, go on, go and tell your mama. Hehehehe!

Anyway I just thought I would write hoping the feds namely Stunnah will go ahead and wrap my PT T-shirt ready and waiting to post to me..lol

Anyway about my avatar that sweet little old lady standing beside me is my grandmother, she passed on 3 years ago, and as sure as rain she would be crying herself to sleep if she knew what I did, and some part of me wishes she was still around even if it meant I would do the unthinkable and break her heart, I really miss her.

Anyway *Bobby wipes away a few tears and shouts another round of ‶Kings Arms gingerbeer”. I just wanted to share this with you all because I am going to exit for a while so I can concentrate on the series more.

You know I think some things just need to be said, it really doesn’t matter what vehicle, mode, or medium you use to find a way to say what you have always wanted others to know………..about yourself. If anything you can’t hide behind a pretty face or flash certificate, and I must have been styling myself like Butch Cassidy for some years now, although I am no longer doing Cassidy these days its more tracks and jeans. I don’t wear shorts anymore, I went through a phase wearing shorts and surfie gear minus the surfing, but frills still make me choke, as do most Barbie outfits……..chuck!!!!!!!

Anyway with that said and done Bobby is going on her way to finish what she started. God Bless Her * Everybody raises their glass to toast this fine warrior and wish her a safe journey

Temat: Reviews for Barcelona!!!
I am going to throw in my thoughts now that I've had a chance to digest Saturday's great event!

The audience were mainly thirtysomethings - and they were REALLY up for it - must have been a great feeling for GM. I was really impressed with the set but I would have liked more interraction with the band - he looks kind of isolated up at the front at times. The video screen is amazing but it also acts as a barrier between GM and the rest of the guys. Some of those singers have been with him for years (Shirley Lewis was on the mtv unplugged concert - and she's my absolute favourite) and it was a shame for them to be stuck at the back for much of the concert. The event really came to life on numbers like Starpeople, where they were all out at the front.

There's no doubt that GM was singing totally live - but there is a backing track as well - big deal. I think Too Funky was aired twice purely because the track was started in error - and there was no way back from there. As someone who has always preferred George's ballads, I actually agree with some of the other posts that there were too many of them and it made the concert feel a little disjointed - as did the 20 minute break in the middle (although noone can blame him for taking it!) as well as the (quite long) breaks between songs at times. Just teething problems, i guess.

As for his voice, I was relieved it's still as good as it is - but I was at the Cover to Cover tour - and in no way is it as good now as it was then. He seemed to have some issues with his earphones at times - particularly during Jesus to a Child - which made it look as if he was straining - but his vocal on First Time Ever... was first rate - even though I thought it was an odd inclusion. I agree with others that the volume of his vocal was generally too low.

The big highlights for me were Amazing, Starpeople and Freedom 90 (not my faves usually)- the crowd's reaction was fantastic. All in all, it was a great night and I was overwhelmed to see him live again. By the time he gets to London. I am really hoping we get to hear 'I Knew You Were Waiting For Me' - it has always been a surefire crowdpleaser - plus the programme pretty much promises the Wembley crowd Last Christmas!!

Temat: biased round up

@ qebab about round 10.5 , ive seen few rounds where MH team was so corrupt. i had mates in LDK that round, and as alliance they were quite small with memberamount but by far owning top planet rankings. 1 of mates who im sure doesnt cheated got closed for no reason and reopened later coz he was on "LDK raid"

their disbanding had many reasons, and not a reason like deuce which was coz they lost, but because they were treated unfair. yet most of those LDK ppl joined Omen and i havent seen such great players tbh
ricka was their main hc in beginning and you should know how fkin good he was. you can almost say LDK in pia got treated like eXi in pa

also remember how much farming Elysium did that round? obvious farming from several ely planets which we reported and nothin happened to them. its safe to say pia team was quite biased that round.

I spoke quite a lot to ricka that round, and I still do when I meet him. He's one of the greatest guys around, as well as good HC. Yet, he was not only their main HC that round, but pretty much the HC doing all the work, wich was one of the reasons they disbanded, true. And ricka, for instance, was one of many LDK who joined Ely, even though quite a few went to Omen as well, as far as I know. They were good, and had their share of top planets, but does not that count for Deuce as well? How is that any different? And even though eXi are treated bad in PA, and you know very well that I support you in many cases, there are those odd few cases where I disagree 100% with eXi people supporting the closed person, or so to say. There are closures I agree 100% with, and yet you lads keep protesting equally much on every one. But, the Wishmaster case, for instance, you have my backing on. And a few "cheating" matters as well, such as people being closed for a rule, before the rule appeared.

And if you, by corrupt MH team, mean the bot closures in Dragons, then I beg you pardon. You should know by now, that those bots were real, and that a lot of high profile dragons were closed, and deleted for it. We were lucky that the MH team saw the bot-pattern that round. How much would you enjoy losing to cheaters?

By the way, Deuce had hardly lost when it disbanded. It still held nearly 30 top 100 planets, as far as I know. I quit early, as I had already decided back in october that year. I quit on 31st of december, as a part of starting a new year. How Deuce collapsed in few days after that, however... I do not know, but Deuce could have and should have kept fighting longer.

Temat: WHAT IT MEANS TO BE CATHOLIC?????
Become Like Little Children

A lot of people think that mothers and fathers can walk out on their families and marry someone else and that only children will perceive it as monstrous. One of the Gospel passages often musunderstood is Matthew 18:3 "...unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of God." Many un- fortunately think of this as just a pretty phrase with no particularly profound meaning behind it. They think of it as requiring some vague kind of simplicity. The Gospels show that Christ meant much more than that.

Acceptance of God's law, of His ideas of right and wrong as eternal and inflexible for all men, is required. Little children do this very well. And everyone who hopes for Heaven must follow their example. Those who do not, to their total astonishment in the next world, will find themselves fulfilling the negative side of this statement: they will not enter God's Kingdom.

Christ used what seemed to be an odd phrase in referring to the damned: "... there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth." (Matt.13:50). Christ repeated this phrase more often than any other in all four Gospels- five times, on five separate occasions-six times altogether! Why? Because He knew that His revelations about Hell would be the hardest to accept. We all like to think of ourselves as mature, and, from a worldly point of view, Hell does seem childish.

Following all Ten Commandments is childishly easy, childishly understandable. Eternal torment for violations for such simple things seems childish. It can seem too simple. Christ countered this response with numerous repetitions. Something can be simple and still be true. And He warned that simplicity is required in accepting the simple. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The soul in Hell will say to himself: "It was all so simple. A child, any child, could see it, and I was so stupid that I blotted even these laws from my mind while I was on Earth and ignored multiple warnings from Christ himself.

St.Paul said:"...be like children as far as evil is concerned, but in mind be mature." (1 Cor.14:20), Christ is not calling us either to a vague kind of simplicity or to simple-mindedness; quite the reverse. We are called to maturity, but a maturity that has not blinded itself to evil....to strict ideas of right and wrong, ideas held so clearly and easily by children.

Temat: One v1.25.4 N-GAGE SymbianOS9.1 Cracked-BiNPDA [N-GAGE 2.0]
Wreszcie dostępna, wyczekiwana przez wielu gra.

Opis z gamespot.com:

If you need a new fighting game to have with you on the go, here's One. Featuring some pretty nice-looking 3D graphics and a good create-a-fighter system, One definitely has its share of distinguishing features. But the quality of the action itself doesn't compare to that which can be found in console fighting games, though it's fairly satisfying for what it is.

The title of the game refers to the moniker given to whomever is the greatest fighter around. There's a story mode that tracks your quest to become the "one," and before you begin it, you must create your own fighter, who essentially becomes your sole playable character throughout the game. You can customize your fighter as often as you wish, but you're limited to cosmetic changes to your character's clothing and hairstyle. The game gives you lots of options for different clothes and accessories right from the start, and many more are unlocked as you progress through the story mode. The quality of One's visuals makes even some fairly subtle differences, like shoes and gloves, quite noticeable even in practice.

Despite the seemingly limitless options you've got in terms of tweaking your fighter's appearance, you're stuck using largely the same variety of moves over and over. One attempts to add depth to its one-on-one fighting system by letting you easily switch between three different fighting styles at the touch of a button, and each style has its own moves. The offensive stance is focused on quick strikes and combos; the defensive stance deals with grapples and counterattacks; and the normal stance is a balanced combination of the other two. You'll face a variety of computer-controlled opponents over the course of the story, and chances are you'll quickly find one stance or another that lets you beat them down. Sure enough, the offensive stance is your best bet more often than not, because the easiest way to defend against a string of fast punches and kicks is by responding in kind. The computer's ability to easily break out of throws also discourages you from messing with some of the more powerful grappling moves available from the defensive stance.

The action itself moves at a decent enough frame rate and is relatively responsive. Some of the martial arts moves do look quite good, but the action still feels rather flat, especially because defeated opponents don't actually fall over--they just stand there, and even if you throw them down at the end of a round, they'll get back up. The sounds of punches and kicks are pretty bland, too, and there's no background music that plays during a typical batch. The game's textured 3D backgrounds are probably the nicest aspect of the presentation, but you can't help but wonder if simpler backgrounds could have allowed for smoother hand-to-hand combat. One other technical issue worth mentioning is that the story mode autosaves your progress after each batch of several opponents. It's odd and not very conducive to the game's portable format that you can't just save your progress after every battle. Noticeably long loading times between fights also detract from One's pick-up-and-play quality.

As you win and lose matches, your character's ranking changes accordingly. The idea is that beating a much more experienced opponent will make you rank up more than if you trash someone who's barely ever fought, and conversely, your rank will take a nosedive if you lose to a weak fighter. It's a pretty good idea in theory, especially because One features Bluetooth multiplayer support as well as an N-Gage Arena mode, which presumably means you'd be able to pit your fighter against multiple human opponents. However, in practice, this might be difficult to accomplish. Over a week of playing, we never could log into the N-Gage Arena servers, for example, and the game, manual, and official message boards offered little recourse. Even so, the lack of substantial variety in the combat makes us wonder whether One would really be all that much more entertaining when played against strangers.

The idea of having a portable fighting game in which you can create your own unique character and use him or her to compete against other players from around the world, anytime and anywhere, is definitely exciting. But One just doesn't quite live up to these promises, whether through limitations of the N-Gage's technology or through some of its own shortcomings. It's still an unusual game that's suggestive of how other fighting games might continue to evolve, but most fighting game fans would be better off sticking to whatever they've been playing on consoles lately.

So much for staying out of the limelight!

First of all, thanks to everyone who posted here, it is much appreciated. I've been tended to properly, and had daily visits by friends when I was in hospital so it's not been a very hard time, though I've had some pains.

Second, some of you seem to be thinking I am fighting for my life or something like that. While I appreciated your concern, I'm happy that I can say this is far from the case. I won't even get any lasting wounds or scars or anything like that, once I get well again (at least that's what they tell me). The scaring thing about the situation isn't as much the illness itself as it is that the doctors seem to be a bit clueless as to what exactly my condition is. As a consequense of this they give me medications for several different conditions and my body responds to this by being extremely tired. I just got home from walking the dog half an hour and I'm almost falling asleep from pure exhaustion here.

Yeah, I'm home. I'm occasionally being shipped to the hospital to stay there for a couple of days so they can give me nutrition and medication straight into my blood, and keep me there for "observation" (this basicly means that they take blood samples and poke me in the stomach to see if I wince). The doctors are of the impression that I have been getting steadily better the past five days, and if this is the case I'll be done with them in a couple of weeks. I am not certain myself because of the nature of my condition (I'm pretty much in pain all the time unless I take painkillers wich makes me go all silly in my head). I am not having fevers as frequently as before though.

Now for the especially interested, I'll tell you a bit about what exactly is wrong! Basicly, I've been having fevers the past three weeks or so. Now, these fevers are quite hefty and body temperatures of over 40 degrees are more the rule than the exception. Furthermore, my throat hurts like hell, and I can't eat much. I also get nauses whenever I do eat. My liver and spleen are swollen for some odd reason, and it really hurts whenever they are touched (wich is probably why the doctors enjoy poking me in my stomach). I also have had some enlarged lymph nodes whatever this means.

I have almost all the sympthoms of mononucleosis but all the tests for this conditions show up negative, so this isn't what's wrong. The doctors have therefore concluded that what I have is a combination of several bacterial infections and they are giving me enough antibiotics to kill a horse. When I am in hospital for "observation" they give me 12 grams a day straight into the blood, and then they hope for the best. As mentioned I will hopefully get better within 2 weeks from today.

Thanks for the support guys, but (jer :) it really is not that bad. As already mentioned the worst part is that noone seems to know what's wrong.

You know you're from Poznań when:

- you can use "tej" in a sentence but have trouble explaining its function to others

- you might owe somebody a mere 20gr and you will still remember to give it back to them

- you think that buses and trams in other cities look odd because they are not painted yellow&green

- you have at least once been thrown out of Pestka, in the middle of the overpass, because it broke down

- you think "ostrzytko" and "skibka" are legitimate words

- you know that Poznań was once the capital of Poland

- you feel very patriotic about Lech beer but never really drink it because Żywiec is just so much better

- you have often wondered what Kaponiera means but never really figured it out

- you love meeting people from Cracow because you know an excellent conversation starter - oh, you say "na pole"? we say "na dwór", how funny is that?!

- you don't think the word "pyry" is funny or weird

- you're very proud of your city because it is one of those four in Poland, that have a highway coming in and out of them

- you used to meet your friends at Teatralka when you were in high school

- you went to Biskupin on a school trip and thought it was really boring

- you think Warta is pretty damn wide

- you hate walking all the way from Stary Rynek to Kaponiera to catch a night bus (but you'll think twice before getting a cab... as you don't want to disappoint those who think we're stingy

- you know the saga of the Kulczyk family

- you consider zoo smell in the middle of the city a perfectly normal thing

- you know that when you walk along Wierzbięcice you need to watch out for dog shit

- you think that going to Bema is really embarassing but you've been there at least once

- you know multiple Piotrs and Pawełs

- you feel like the whole country owes us for the Piotr&Paweł chain

- you know the name of the university is supposed to be pronounced [u.a.m], and flip out when others make it into [ułam]

- you enjoy saying "wuchta wiary" and getting that wtf? reaction from people who have no idea what you mean

- you've been to Jarmark Świętojański at least once

- you call a stick figure"pamperek" instead of "ludzik" just to see confusion on ppl's face

- you keep wondering why Okrąglak still hasn't been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List

- you know you don't have to travel to Paris to go to Place Pigalle

- you know that Multikino was Poland's first multipex and you're damn proud of it! and Cinema City Franowo will always be Kinepolis (the biggest movie theater in Europe btw - Poznań represent!

- you use the word "ostrzytko" instead of "temperówka", and, as if it wasn't bad enough, you pronounce it "oszczytko". how are you ever going to sharpen that pencil?!

- you go thorugh life without realizing that "odbić bilet" and "nadusić przycisk" are not utterances in proper Polish

| You can make a gift to yourself of whatever you like, but to me, when

Can't you just whisper it into their ears? Or at least tell them _after_
the dinner.

That would be preferable.

Actually, I don't feel compelled to correct each and every guy on Usenet
that breaches netiquette in some way. That happens only when I'm in the
mood for it :-)

| Tony 'Killfile' Porczyk told me, before sticking his chubby fingers in
his
| virtual ears, that this has been part of netiquette since the infancy of
| Usenet, as if that meant anything. There weren't such powerful
processors
| and reading software and the modems were much slower in those days.

So, do you think the netiquette rules mean nothing today? Go ahead and
post in HTML all the time! Our modems/ISDN lines can surely stand that!

Poor trimming and posting in HTML are two completely different ballgames.

| Nowadays the whole thing is pretty quick and in the not too distant
future
| most homes will have links to the net at least as good as the ISDN lines

You gotta be joking. Unless the 'not too distant future' is something like
10-20 years (in Poland, at least).

Give it 5 years for Poland. Seriously.

| that mainly only businesses have today. A modem of quite acceptable
speed
| doesn't cost much and so I repeat, upgrade your equipment if it seems
slow.

There's not much sense in upgrading modems as nothing faster than 56 K
ones will ever be designed.

And they are fast enough for the odd poor trim not to matter at all.

| That's not rude that's good advice for anyone who doesn't want to be
stuck
| with old gear in the new millennium. You've gotta keep up, the landslide
of

I'd rather get a leased line than a new modem. But the discussion was not
about upgrading our comps!

Probably you are right. And we will all probably go down that route before
long.

| whose been around for ages and ages, he's highly computer literate but
he
| never trims a word. It doesn't stop him being one of the most

Maybe that's because he always has something to say to any part of the
posting :-)

Oh, does he by any chance not refer to quoted material and write his
replies above it?

He replies with a paragraph or two of his own, or maybe just a sentence,
once or twice in a message, and then leaves the rest untrimmed and adds his
sixteen line .sig at the end.

| would not irritate me or any other reasonable person, you just come in

I guess the post was rather intrusive, and could've been sneaked thru in a
much more civil way, but humor him. He only wanted it well for everyone.
I'd rather read such posts than commercial spam.

there might as well just be one newsgroup in the world.

I would prefer to read such posts from people who write on other topics as
well.

Uncle Davey.

You may be right about the fact that people are sometimes lazy in their
trimming. Sometimes they're so occupied with content they forget form.
That's natural. And it happens on every group I've ever been on, this group
is by no means worse than average. Are you going to tell every group to
improve their trimming habits?

Tony 'Killfile' Porczyk told me, before sticking his chubby fingers in his
virtual ears, that this has been part of netiquette since the infancy of
Usenet, as if that meant anything. There weren't such powerful processors

progress won't stop for you.

As the technical state of play on the internet develops, so our freedom to
ignore constraints necessary before increases. You are never going to make
people into good trimmers, you go and look at some American posters on
soc.singles like Aaron Kulkis, for example. There's a high volume poster
whose been around for ages and ages, he's highly computer literate but he
never trims a word. It doesn't stop him being one of the most consistently
responded to posters in the entire world. (Most people do hate him, but
that's for another reason.)

Now I see you on this group for the first time, you're not on deja and
unless you've had a name change and instead of writing something about
language, literature, the translating profession or even the latest joke
that's going around your office, or just introducing yourself, any of which
would not irritate me or any other reasonable person, you just come in with
what you yourself confess to be 'a _massive_ request', to alter our posting
styles to match netiquette.

Alright, maybe it's not trolling, but it's certainly misjudged and makes you
look like a very odd person. If everyone followed your posting patterns
there'd be nothing of 'meritum' on the net, just requests for everyone to
comply with one or another version of netiquette.

A fine state we'd all be in then.

So I look forward to reading from you again on something related to the
forum, rather than something which would be just as meaningful/less on just
about any other NG anywhere.
